Hoffman Media receives prestigious min awards

Hoffman Media recently announced its acceptance of several prestigious awards at min’s Most Intriguing Awards breakfast December 8th at the Yale Club in Manhattan.

Of 217 eligible new magazine launches, Bake From Scratch magazine was chosen as the year’s Hottest Launch. Brian Hart Hoffman, President of Hoffman Media and Editor-in-Chief of Bake From Scratch accepted the award.

Brian said, “One thing we’ve learned is that my mom was right about print. After more than 30 years, print isn’t dying, it’s changing, as witnessed by the record three Hoffman Media publications being honored today.”

Phyllis Hoffman DePiano, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Hoffman Media, accepted the award for Hottest New Publisher of 2016 for Classic Sewing magazine. The magazine was also named to the 30 Hottest Launches of 2016.

Phyllis commented about the min award, “This award is accepted on behalf of our great teams. We have amazing talent at Hoffman Media. I am grateful to be a part! ”

Additionally, Southern Cast Iron magazine, edited by Josh Miller, was among the titles named to the 30 Hottest Launches of 2016 list.

Samir “Mr. Magazine” Husni, Director of the Magazine Innovation Center at the University of Mississippi School of Journalism, curated the list of Hottest Launches in his yearly partnership with min.

Eric Hoffman, President of Hoffman Media, stated, “Hoffman Media has built the company on the foundation of strong circulation, as it is one of the most important measures of a publisher’s health. The power of the brand/customer relationship is everything in this business, as it is the cornerstone to how you build other revenue streams, like advertising.”

Often times, our industry measures metrics that can be manipulated so easily, like rate base or total audience. As a result, the circulation health can be compromised for short-term gain. The three titles that were honored here today are perfect examples of our business model. High levels of production value, high quality content that serves niche audiences, and prices that properly value the content. We will continue to focus on the quality of our readers, not the quantity of them.”
