Hoffman Media, LLC seeks qualified applicants for its administrative, circulation, editorial, advertising, and production departments. The following positions are located in our corporate office in Birmingham, Alabama.

Account Directors (two positions)

We are seeking two full-time account directors to help us build the future. One member of our team will call on marketers and advertising agencies in Alabama/Kentucky/Tennessee and the other will call on marketers and advertising agencies in Georgia/Florida/South Carolina. The ideal candidates have a minimum of 5 years of media sales experience and a deep list of contacts in the DMO, CPG, and Homes categories within the territory. The candidates should be familiar with selling print, digital, email, and custom content creation. They should also live in a major metropolitan area within the territory. A proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel, is also desired. This position will consist of up to 40% travel-some overnight. Will work from a home office-must have internet service. Please specify territory.

Test Kitchen/Recipe Tester

Do you love baking, cooking, and testing recipes? We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual that knows their way around the kitchen. In this fast-paced position, you must have the ability to test recipes for our magazines to ensure reader success and troubleshoot/correct recipes for publication. We are looking for someone with strong baking and pastry skills, a passion for cooking, and a willingness to learn. A college/culinary degree is preferred. Must have Microsoft Office skills and the ability to edit recipes according to provided recipe style guide.

Art Director
Birmingham, AL

We are seeking an individual to be responsible for creating and overseeing the general visual look of the magazine. This individual will design all layouts for each issue from start to finish while maintaining tight deadlines. Some duties include providing on-set direction of photography for magazine-cover photo shoots, as well as updates on art and edit flow to Managing Editor. We prefer 5+ years of experience working on a national publication or related product. Must have a Bachelor of Arts/Graphic Design or related degree and a thorough understanding of the Mac OSX operating system and Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. This individual must have strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Understanding prepress production for a 4-color magazine is required. Marketing Coordinator

We have an excellent opportunity for an individual to assist our sales team with writing proposals, creating marketing materials, managing projects, and scheduling/working events.

This position requires the following:

  • Excellent communication and follow up skills; must communicate with clients and vendors in a professional manner
  • Schedule creation and deadline management
  • Must be extremely organized and have effective multi-tasking abilities, working within tight deadlines
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Outlook, experience with drop box, Photo Shop, and Podio a plus.
  • Experience in publishing or ad agency a plus
  • Experience supporting a marketing or sales team preferred

Stylist 

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced photo stylist who will be responsible for propping and styling photo shoots for our beautiful food, lifestyle, and entertaining publications. This individual will work closely with team members in executing the overall visual look and feel of the magazine. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: establish relationships with local homeowners and various locations to use for photo shoots, pursue and maintain relationships with vendors to secure products, conceive and execute visual story ideas, select appropriate props, and provide sourcing information to team members. Must have excellent communication skills and an eye for details. Interior decorating and floral-design experience helpful. Industry experience is necessary. Will attend trade shows to identify upcoming trends and opportunities for future editorial features. Travel may be required.
