A seasoned writer, Barbara Cockerham is editor of Victoria and TeaTime magazines and heads the Hoffman Media book division. After a career that began with daily newspapers, she co-founded Symbol of Excellence Publishers with Phyllis Hoffman in 1983. There she served as executive editor of six women's titles until the company was sold in 1996. Cockerham rejoined Hoffman in 1998 when Hoffman Media was formed, and remains an integral part of the staff. Barbara earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and journalism from Mississippi University for Women. She continues to pursue her passion for elegance, sophistication, and style through the pages of Victoria, a women's lifestyle magazine published by Hearst Corp. from 1987 through 2003. Under Barbara's sure hand, and with the same appreciation for romantic living and feminine flair for which Victoria was renowned, Hoffman Media revived Victoria as a bi-monthly title in 2007 in partnership with Hearst. In TeaTime, a publication that gains a growing reputation and readership each year, Barbara expresses her fascination with foods, entertaining, and her love for the written word, along with companion books that feature menus, recipes and the strikingly beautiful photography for which Hoffman Media is known. A resident of Gastonia, North Carolina, she maximizes the efficiency provided by technology that allows her to telecommute with Birmingham-based Hoffman Media.
